At the time, Turkey and Italy quarelled over Tripolitaine. This incident was at the origin of a serious diplomatic slump between Italy and France. In September 1914, is transformed into auxiliary cruiser then in transport of troops in 1915. On July 4, 1915, is torpedoed in the Aegen sea by the German submarine U 212. 6 victims.
