History
Built in 1928 under the name of BERNARD. Unknown Shipowner. Bought in 1929 by Compagnie Générale Transatlantique. Retains her name. Based in Le Havre then in Bordeaux since 1932. Seized by the Germans in August 1940. Scuttled in Bordeaux on August 18, 1944 by the German troops in retirement. Refloated on May 1945, repaired then put into service. July 12, 1952, during her towing from Bordeaux to Fort-de-France (Martinique), sinks in the open sea.
