History
Fourth of a series of 4 ships. Sisterships : SAINT DOMINGUE (1879), SALVADOR (1880), MANOUBIA (1880). Brought into service in 1881 on the lines of North Africa, at the departure of Marseille. In 1890, suffers an explosion of boilers. In 1896, is placed like stationary at the West Indies. In 1910, is sold to a Venezuelian shipping company and is renamed GUYANA. Demolished in 1921 (?).
