History
Traditional cargo liner of 4300t, built in 1909 in Port de Bouc, twin of the MARONI delivered to CGT a few months earlier. Launched on May 9, 1909, 1st departure of Le Havre on July 10, 1909. Transformed in 1913 into a refrigerated ship, becoming with her twin the first 2 banana ships of the CGT. Laid up on 9 December 1932, renamed ARCADIE to set free the name of BASSE-TERRE for the benefit of the ELSE second hand acquired in Denmark. Towed towards Antwerp on February 14, 1934 for demolition.
