History
Brought into service in 1936 on the lines of Corsica. Property of the French government, entrusted with management to the Compagnie Fraissinet. Seized by the Italians in December 1942. Renamed CANOSA. Seized by the Germans in September 1943. Transformed into transport of troops (?) and renamed SG6. Restored in France and laid up in Marseilles. In June 1944, is transferred to Cassis with steamer PRESIDENT DAL PIAZ and is scuttled by the German troops. Refloated in December 1945. Reconditioned and partially rebuilt, in her central part. Given in service on the lines of Corsica and under Transat flag, in June 1951. Returned to the State in August 1966. Sold in 1967 to a Panamanian shipowner and renamed FORTUNE MARINER. Demolished in Hong Kong in 1968.
