History
Ex-KLOPSTOCK built on behalf of the German shipping company Adler Line. Brought into service in November 1874 on the Hamburg-New York line. In 1875, the Adler shipping company is taken again by the HAPAG. Same service. Bought by Transat in 1876. Renamed SAINT GERMAIN and brought into service in June 1876 on the line of New York. In December, is transferred on the line of Colon. During all her career, will serve one or the other of these lines, according to the needs. On January 12, 1881, runs aground at the entry of Pointe-à-Pitre. Demolished in Glasgow, in Ecosse, 1907.
