History
Ex-NORHAM CASTLE built on behalf of Castle Line. In 1900, Castle Line and Union Line amalgamate to form the Union-Castle Line. Brought into service in 1883 on the Southampton-Capetown line. In 1891, receives triple expansion engines. Her chimney is raised. Bought by Transat in September 1903. Renamed MARTINIQUE and placed on the line of Colon. In 1910 (or 1914?), is transferred on the Bordeaux-Casablanca line. In 1921, is reallocated on the line of Colon. In 1924, is transformed into a sheep carrier and is placed on the lines of North Africa. Demolished in Italy in 1932.
