History
Built on behalf of the British shipping company London & Edinburgh Shipping Co. under the name of MALVINA. Brought into service in 1866. Bought by Compagnie Valéry in July 1872. Brought into service on the lines of North Africa. No renaming. Bought by Transat in 1880. Same service, always under the same name. In 1882, undergoes a complete reconditioning and receives new boilers. In 1896, is assigned like stationary in the West Indies. In 1899, her service begins again on the lines of the Mediterranean. September 7, 1910, sinks in the harbour of Algiers in consequence of a water leak. Refloated and sold for the demolition, after a 44 years career.
