History
MACORIS with ROUSSILLON and LA BOURDONNAIS was one of the three german liners granted to the French Line on account of war compensation after 1918. Ex-BUERGERMEISTER of the Deutsche Ost-Afrika Linie. Put into service in 1902 on a circular line all around Afrika, departure Hambourg. Laid up in 1914. Transferred to the French Government in February 1919 and granted to the French Line in 1920. Renamed MACORIS. Put on the line of Colon in november 1920. During the winter 1927-1928 then from July to November 1931, is temporarily assigned to the line Bordeaux-Casablanca. In 1934 operates with DE LA SALLE the servicing of the subsidiary line of Haïti. Is no more used after the reorganisation of the West Indies line occured in 1935. Broken up in Saint-Nazaire in 1935.
