Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, 1915 - 1929

History
Built on behalf of the Fraissinet shipping company under the name of STAMBOUL. Brought into service in 1881 on the lines of the Black Sea, at the departure of Marseille. In 1888, is transformed into cargo liner and is placed on the lines of South America. In 1904, receives new boilers. Repulses two attacks of German submarines in June and in October 1918. Bought by Compagnie Générale Transatlantique in 1929. Renamed LA NIEVRE and used as a sheep carrier on the lines of North Africa. Sold for the demolition in Spezia in December 1929.
