History
Cargo liner of 8900t, built in Great Britain for the CNO (D'Orbigny) like ZENON but chartered by CGT at her delivery on August 1921. Prompted CGT to order 2 twins, ALASKA in 1922 and ARIZONA in 1925. Bought from the CNO February 1934, renamed ARICA. Assigned to the line of the South Pacific. After the Armistice of June 1940, line Morocco-West Indies under the organization DTM. Hailed on June 1, 1941 by a Dutch sloop, led to Trinidad and given to the Ministry of War Transport. Placed under the contol of Thos. & Jas. Harrison. Torpedoed and sunk on November 6, 1942 by the German Submarine U160 about 8 miles of Galera Point, Trinidad.
