Brought into service in May 1865 on the line Le Havre-New York. In January 1866, is victim of a serious damage of engine. Her service in September begins again, after repairs. In 1873, is transformed into propeller steamer and her hull lengthened of 10 meters. Three masts instead of two. Given in service in August 1873. April 10, 1874, is abandoned in the North Atlantic due to an important water leak. The ship had touched the ground with the keel at her departure of Le Havre.
