History
Replica of the steamers CARTHAGE (1910) and TIMGAD (1911), in reduction. Brought into service in February 1913 on the lines of North Africa, at the departure of Marseille. During the World War one, is used as transport of troops in the Mediterranean. From 1919 to 1936, operates in the Mediterranean. Transformed into fuel oil heating in 1923. In 1936, is transferred on the intercolonial network from the West Indies, where she ensures in particularly the connection between Fort de France and Guyana. At the beginning of the second World War (until 1942?), carries out several rotations between the West Indies and New York. From 1943 to 1945, is chartered by War Shipping Administration. Again, ensures local service trips from 1946 to 1949. Demolished in La Spezia, in Italy, in 1950, after a 37 years career.
