Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, 1966 - 1969

History
Brought into service in June 1966 on the lines of Corsica. Sistership: COMTE DE NICE. Transferred in 1969 to the CGTM which joins together the Mediterranean services of Transat and Compagnie de Navigation Mixte. Same service. In 1976, the CGTM becomes the SNCM. Laid up in October 1980. Sold in November 1981 to a liberian shipping company Stability Maritime. Renamed GOLDEN VERGINA, under Greek flag. Resold in 1988 to the Greek Shipping Company Agapitos Bros. At the end of 1999, Minoan Lines take the control of Agapitos Bros. In 2000, is placed under the banner of Hellas Ferries and is renamed EXPRESS SAMINA. On September 26, 2000, runs against rocks near the Island of Paros and sinks. 80 victims.
