Steamer with two chimneys built in 1909 by Northumberland SB Co in Newcastle for National Steam Navigation Company of Greece (EMBIRICOS shipping company) under the name of PATRIS, Greek flag. Acquired in April 1925 by Compagnie des Messageries Maritimes. Renamed CLAUDE CHAPPE. Arrives on April 30, 1925 at shipyard of La Ciotat for transformation before her assignment to the ancillary service between Saigon and Haïphong within the scope of the agreement made with the general government of Indo-China on April 13, 1925. Replaced in May 1939 by KHAI DIN, ex LAMARTINE. Sold on June 15, 1939 for breaking up in Hong Kong.
