History
Built by Tecklenborg AG in virtue of German compensations allotted to the Services Contractuels des Messageries Maritimes. Assigned to the line of Indian Ocean, first departure on November 11, 1926. December 21, 1932 collides and sinks, in roads of Marseille, the Spanish ship NAVEMAR. In 1936 carries out some voyages on Indo-China. In June 1940 is in Tamatave until December then carries out some voyages from Saigon to Haïphong, Shangaï, Manila. In June 1941 supplies Shangaï with coal of Campha with, for this trafic, her boilers transformed to coal burning. December 6, 1941 brings back to Manila the Americans of Shangaï and Hankeou. Is in Campha on December 7, 1941 at the time of the attack of Pearl Harbor. Blocked in Haïphong, returns to Saigon in January 1942. Is requisitioned by the Japanese on April 10, 1942 who take delivery of her on June 2 and rename her TEIBI MARU. Torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine BONEFISH by 14°49' North and 110°16' East in northeast of Quin Hon (Annam).
