Postal steamer of 2nd type (ALEXANDRE, CAIRE, EGYPTUS, LOUQSOR, NIL (I), OSIRIS) built in 1843 by shipyards ARMAN in Bordeaux for Mail Administration, on appropriations of 7,000,000 Frs voted in 1842 for the construction of 6 ships. From 1843 to 1851 assigned to the mail service of Levant which includes 3 lines from Marseilles to Italy, Constantinople and Beirut. Transferred the 1st October 1851 to Société Anonyme des Messageries Nationales, carries out her first departure on the 1st November carries out on the lines of Levant which she will alternate with the mail service on Oran, Algiers and Tunis since 1854 within the scope of the convention signed with the State. In 1858, assigned to the line Constantinople Trébizonde and returns in 1859 on the mail service of North Africa. Sold on December 8, 1861 for demolition in La Ciotat.
