CONSULTATION REGULATIONS

art 1 : All requests for the consultation of documents must be preceded by an appointment made by telephone at the following number : 02 35 24 19 13.
The research subject should be indicated at the time of the appointment.

art 2: The premises are open to the public :

art 3 : Due to the private character of the collections, the French Lines Association is under no obligation to communicate its archives.
At the time of the first appointment, the researcher indicating their identity and the precise details of the research fills out an identification card. The researcher is then granted a consultation authorisation for the documents at the discretion of the person responsible for the heritage.

art 4 : The access rights for archives are fixed at 50FF for the day or 100FF for 5 days. However, access is free of charge for members of the French Lines Association.

art 5 : Nobody from outside the department is authorised within the archive storerooms.

art 6 : Documents may not be removed from the premises except in exceptional circumstances, for example for an exhibition.

art 7 : The number of articles is limited to ten per request. The researcher may consult only one article at a time.

art 8 :The documents communicated during the day may be reserved for consultation the next day.

art 9 :The photocopy of archived documents (written or illustrated) can be carried out on request at the discretion of the person responsible for the heritage, for strictly private use only.
The price of photocopies is fixed at :
1 franc for A4 format
2 francs for the A3 format.
The signing of an attestation stating the private use of the duplications must precede any duplication.

art 10 : Any commercial use or direct exploitation (ex : reproduction of a document for sales purposes, etc...) or indirect (ex : publication of a book using archives etc...) of documents consulted with a profitable aim is prohibited. In exceptional circumstances the use of one or several documents for commercial purposes is authorised, subject of the prior written agreement of the French Lines Association and the acquittal of rights in accordance with the law n°92-597 of the 1st of July 1992 (Code of intellectual property rights).

COMMUNICATION REGULATIONS

No document can be freely communicated due to the private character of the archives kept by the French Lines Association. All documents can be communicated with the authorisation of the person in charge of the heritage.
