Statutory form

Auditing

An auditor appointed by the Board of Directors will carry out the auditing.

Members

Founders

Members

These are individuals or legal entities wishing to join the Association and having paid up their annual subscription. The Association has around one thousand members.

Procedures

Board of directors

The board is composed of 16 members including 4 representatives from amongst the founding members, 7 qualified people and 5 member representative. The directors representing the founder members include 2 representatives appointed by the CGM and 2 representatives designated by the SNCM. The qualified people are designated by a majority vote of founding members in accordance with their technical, local or maritime skills with regard to the Association activities.

A representative of the Ministry of Finance is also present on the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors appoints a President, a Vice-President, a Treasurer and a General Secretary from amongst the members of the Association.

Scientific and technical committee

Consultation board enabling the Association to take advantage of the skills offered by various experts wishing to participate actively in the life of the Association. This group is composed of 12 people at the most chosen for their skills, know-how or their reputation in the Association domains of activity and development; in particular in the management of shipping lines, navigation, techniques and shipbuilding, law, museography, audio-visual, publishing, maritime history, tourism, the arts and restoration.

The group puts forwards recommendations and orientations on the general policies of the Association development.

Reading panel

Consultation board charged with assessment and giving an opinion on working projects submitted to the Association on historic, technical and scientific subjects. The group proposes the form of participation of French Lines for the edition and the publication of works concerning maritime history.

The group is composed of 12 members at the most, experts on the following shipping lines: Compagnie Générale Maritime, Société Nationale Corse Meditérranée, Compagnie Générale Transatlantique™, Compagnie des Messageries Maritimes™
