From 1862 to 1974, nearly 500 ships raised the flag of the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique. In the 19th century, Louisiane, or Washington which inaugurated the line New York Le Havre. Then very famous liners of the 20th century, France 1912, Normandie or France 1962. But the fleet of CGT was not only composed of liners, on the commercial lines also circulated many cargo ships : liberty ships after the second world war, banana reefer ships then container ships.


French Lines proposes to gather information on this fleet, from collections and archives. For each ship one will find photography, design features and history.
