The French Lines Association iconography
heritage includes, in addition to the collection of 173 films, 70 000 documents
on a wide variety of supports such as paper copies, glass plates,
transparencies and negatives.
These pictures are of undeniable aesthetic quality and form a complementary source to the paper collections that are so valuable for researchers. In addition there are many originals or copies of documents that are currently included in the paper collections and listed under this category.
Evidence of over a century of maritime history, these photographic collections illustrate 950 different vessels with construction scenes, inside and outside views and scenes of life on board ship.
Some works already exist which have been made using the Associations iconography collection :
If you wish to use these images in the context of cultural exhibitions, reproductions are available in all forms, please contact Jacques JOSEPH on 01 45 33 37 43.
